Arrival at Srinagar Airport, transfer to Hotel/ Houseboat, evening Shikara ride and overnight stay at Hotel/ Houseboat.
After breakfast depart from Srinagar as per road opening timings. The drive to Sonamarg (85kms) is another spectacular facet of country side in Kashmir in Sindh Valley. The Sindhu Valley is the largest tributary of the valley of Kashmir. Drive to Kargil the road passes through the panoramic village reach Sonamarg (2740 Mtrs). After Sonamarg most rough road and wet Zojila pass (62kms from Sonamarg) 3527 Mtrs (Gateway of Ladakh). Continue drive towards Drass, 40kms from Zojila pass, (The second coldest inhibited place in the world). Another 58kms, two and half hours’ drive will take us to Kargil (2710 Mtrs) which has got its importance after opening the Ladakh for tourists in 1974. Overnight stay at the hotel
Depart from Kargil after early Breakfast, en-route visit the monastery of Mulbekh, situated 45 km from Kargil and 260 km from Leh, Monastery is famous for its two Gompa and the nine mtr tall statue of Maitreya Buddha, after driver to Lamayuru (65kms from Mulbekh) Lamayuru monastery is the oldest and one of the largest monasteries in Ladakh region. The monastery belongs to Red- Hat Sect of Buddhism, after drive to Alchi (60kms from Lamayuru), Sightseeing of 1000 year old Alchi monastery the only Gompa in Ladakh region on flat ground. After a leisurely breakfast, we drive to visit Hemis Monastery situated 45km west of Leh; Hemis is the largest and the wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. From Hemis, you are driven back taking the same route to visit Thiksey Monastery, located on a hill-lock with formidable views of the Indus valley. Thiksey is especially noteworthy for its gigantic seated statue of the Maitreya and is also known for its (Dukhang) assembly hall which houses hundreds of rectangular prayer books, stacked between wooden covers and bound in silk. After that we continue to drive through series of chortens to visit Shey Palace the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh. Overnight stay at the hotel. After Breakfast drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft) Arrive at Hundur by Afternoon. Rest of the day, Post lunch free to explore Deskit, Hunder Villages and camel Safari in Sand Dunes between Deskit and Hunder Village. Overnight stay at the camp
Enjoy breakfast under a clear sky on the river bank travel to Diskit Monastery in the town of Diskit. As you enter near the town, you can view the huge 106-feet high statue of Maitreya Buddha atop a hill. The monastery has intriguing images of many deities. Continue your drive towards to Pangong Tso via Shayok village. It not often that travel experts cover this majestic location in a span of 6 days on a trip to Ladakh. But we believe you deserve the best and including this in our itinerary is a step forward to that. One of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world and the highest salt water lake, the crystal blue waters of the Pangong Tso Lake impeccably reflect the brown mountains around making for a picture-perfect postcard. After an early breakfast you will be drive to Tsomoriri Via Chushul by crossing Tsaga La. Until Chushul you will have an amazing drive along with Pangong lake. After crossing Chushul, the road approaches to a 14500 ft pass Tsaga la with China in your left side and you would find lots of army outposts at your left on top of the mountains. Late afternoon you will be in Tsomoriri. In the evening walk along the Lake and Overnight stay at Camp.
After Breakfast Drive from Tsomoriri to Sarchu, en-route cross Lachulung La pass (88kms from Taglang La Pass) at 5,065 m (16,616 ft), Nakee La pass (20kms from Lachulung La) at 4,739 m (15,547 ft), continuous drive to Sarchu (37kms). Sarchu is the last inhabited point in Himachal Pradesh on the Manali -Leh route- which is regarded as one of the highest highways in the world. Overnight at Camp in Sarchu 4,290 m (14,070 ft)
After breakfast drive to Manali, en-route we cross Baralacha La Pass (40kms from Sarchu) 5,030 m (16,500 ft), after we cross Zingzingbar (18kms from Baralacha La pass) 4,270 m (14,010 ft) after drive to Darcha 33kms from Zingzingbar, after drive toward Jispa (10kms from Darcha). We will see the beautiful village Jispa, the village is situated at the junction of two nullahs with the main river Bhaga. Jispa has a very large dry river-bed, a rarity in Lahaul. Proceed to Rohtang Pass 3978 M (88kms from Jispa) is most popular with visitors, being one of the highest road point and gateway to LAHAUL and SPITI valleys. Pass remains closed during winter due to heavy snow from November end to May end.
